“Why Do We Yawn” is one of the controversial question nowadays. We all did it involuntarily but why? In the year of 2329, what kind of technological advancement would evolve to? Perhaps the answer lies within the imagination of the human minds; homo sapiens, however, is the only species that possess the curiosity and  the alacrity to fully comprehend a certain knowledge to invent or develop a type of technology that would probably made life easier for solely themselves.

According to the history of mankind, we have been looking forward to the future of our own and perpend the possibility of which the technological advancement will perhaps be incomprehensible currently. In particular, before the invention of the airplane, the society do not think that human can fly but the Wright Brothers made it possible on December 17, 1903. From that day onwards, geniuses arose from time to time, by that, our primitive perspective of technological advancement slowly evolve into a much more absolute future.

She wants me to write a post cogitating the technological advancement of the future by the year of 2329; 319 years from now. I’ve always wonder that technology could one day shed light upon our desire, and so I’ve iota of ideas of such technologies.

Currently, the military are trying to get their hands on a type of metal. That is, Amorphous metal, it consist of metal with a disordered atomic structure. They can be twice as strong as steel. Because of their disordered structure, they can disperse impact energy more effectively than a metal crystal, which has points of weakness. Amorphous metals are made by quickly cooling molten metal before it has a chance to align itself in a crystal pattern. Amorphous metals may the military’s next generation of armor, before they adopt diamondoid armor in mid-century.

This “Sixth Sense” technology is one of the kind invention that made life easier, but how? Well, just by projecting a certain image that you desired onto any surface that you could think of, while in that state, you could manage your data in which you had gathered throughout the period of usage.So it seems that the future of computation and manipulation is drawing near, the question is: Is it really that promising?

This “Sixth Sense” technology is developed by a fellow bloke named Steve Mann and it’s further developed by Pranav Mistry, both PhD students in the MIT Media Lab. Sixth Sense is a wearable gestural interface device that augments the physical world with digital information and lets people use natural hand gestures to interact with that information.

According to history, in the 1990s, Mann developed a wearable computer system with a webcam and projector having infinite depth-of-focus so that it could project onto the wearer’s hands (gestures) or arbitrary 3D objects and surfaces in front of the wearer. It’s originated as a neckworn projector+camera system or “Synthetic Synesthesia of the Sixth Sense” as he referred it. He used this prototype as a teaching example and taught the students how to build one of these.

To prove its usefulness, viability and flexibility of the system. There are several applications that you could apply on. In particular, the so-called “map” application gives you the ability to navigate the map just by using hand gestures, similar to gestures supported by multi-touch based systems, letting the user zoom in, zoom out or pan using intuitive hand movements. Besides that, you may draw stuff with your index fingers and they’re all based on user’s freehand gestures (postures). For example, it implements a gestural camera that takes photos of the scene the user is looking at by detecting the ‘framing’ gesture. Also, it augments physical objects the user is interacting with by projecting more information about these objects onto them. For example, a newspaper can show live video news or dynamic information can be provided on a regular piece of paper.
